CityParis.A.S.nails

Morning!

So, today I have city number 2 in our countdown of the top cities in the world to visit!! Paris!

Late last year I did some Paris nails to get me all excited and looking forward to my trip away for my birthday, but today's are a little different.
I have tried to focus on the top things you want from you're city break...sight seeing, shopping & food (& drink!)

I've used Barry M's Strawberry Ice-cream for the main base colour, then using black and white nail paint & a nail art brush I added my detail. This includes a cupcake (which I imagine to be sat in the window of a gorgeous little Patisserie in Paris!), a Chanel design beaded necklace (because who doesn't love to shop on holiday!), a pink stripe & lace ring finger nail (French lace/beautiful lingerie inspired!) and finally, of course the most famous and visited landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower.

If this design has given you itchy feet and you're looking for the perfect city break to Paris we have some links you should check out below.

Does anybody have any recommendations or tips on where to go when visiting the French capital? How about any great salons or nail bars in Paris?

Have a wonderful day! And don't forget...follow us on Twitter :) x

Paris.A.S.nails

Apologies for my lack of posts in the last 2 weeks!! I know Sophie has been blogging her share but I've just been super busy with work/this time of year.

This week starts and ends with mine and Sophie's birthdays - Yey!! Happy Birthday for yesterday Soph :)

And I am off to Paris for mine this weekend which is why I couldn't resist trying some France inspired nail art today.

The red is Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Polish. It's such a gorgeous colour, plus it has a thicker and flatter 'Maxi Brush' which makes application quick and easy. I used two coats of this with a clear top coat using Barry M's clear base/top coat.

The base of my ring finger is Essie - white and I used some red, white, blue and black nail art pens to draw the Eiffel Tower, little heart, and French flag colour stripes on my the thumb nail.

These have definitely got me very excited about going! I hope you like them.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Tribal.A.S.nails

These are my first attempt at some tribal inspired nails. I like having just the thumb and ring finger with the pattern on but I am planning to get better at these tricky tribal designs so I can do it on every finger nail with ease!!
Ive seen a lot of tribal nail wraps around but thought I would try and do them free hand.
I found that as long as you use the same colours on each nail and do a combination of stripes, dots and zig-zags it will look tribal! And the colours don't even have to match! For example, I chose orange, yellow red and blue which don't match at all!! The more they clash, the better!
You can design different patterns on each nail which is great to experiment with. Just add in white and black - I used Rio nail art pens.
The orange is Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Satsuma (which I'm still loving).

Have a good day!

FallingSpots.A.S.Nails

Hello readers! It's Monday which means the start of another week of work until we can all play again!

Today I have (something I struggled to name) some 'falling spots' nails. These were very easy to do so you can all have a go and it would be great to see what colour combinations you can all come up with. For mine I used Barry M grey and Models Own white nail art pen to do the spots and stripes. I also wanted to add a matte effect so I used Rimmel Pro Matte effect before I did the spots to give it a bit of contrast. You can always use a dotting tool or even a tooth pick for the spots.

Anyway you lovely readers, I hope your Monday isn't too bad. Just keep on smiling!

Dots/Stripes/Moustache/Bows.A.S.nails

Yessssss. It's mid week!!! It's all easy riding now. We hope so anyway.

Today I have done some very simple (but pretty and long named) nails as I was feeling that whatever I did I wouldn't be able to beat Alice's A-MAZ-ING 'where's Wally' nails yesterday.

So here they are (ta-daa). For these nails I used my beautiful new Essie Mint Candy Apple nail varnish (I am loving this colour) and Models Own nail art pens in black and white. On my left hand i did white dots and black moustache's and on my right hand i did white stripes (no, not the band) and black bows. Very simple yet pretty and slightly quirky i think?

Enjoy! And try them out yourselves! You can then show us on Twitter or Instagram @cute_as_nails

Have a lovely day everyone!

TeamGB.A.S.nails

Happy mid week everyone!!! I hope you've all been watching the Olympics and cheering on Team GB (or any other country if you're not from Great Britain). We have the Olympics showing at work and I do find myself watching it a lot instead of talking to customers (oops) but they have been great!

In essence of the Olympics I have done some wonderful Team GB nails! For these I used Models Own white for the base and their nail art pens, with a couple of Tantrums pens, for the detailing. Instead of the Olympic rings I opted for stripes in the same colours. These are different and easier to do as I think if I did the rings they would all end up being different sizes! These are easy to do (the Union Jacks were a little tricky) and very fun!

Everyone has been commenting on them! Working in Stratford (where the Olympics are taking place) I feel all the great energy and hype of the Olympics. So come on Team GB!!! Get some GOLD!!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!
