CathKidstonInspired.A.S.nails

Hey hey!! This is the first of two blog post/reviews for the new, eagerly awaited Barry M Nail Art Pens!!

I first heard rumors of these pens a few months ago and felt very excited - our favorite brand, doing a nail art pen = a dream for us!
Then a couple of weeks ago a parcel full of the new summer launch Barry M goodies arrived, including these fab new nail art pens in 4 different colours! Lucky Sophie & I!!
And it can be lucky you too! These babies are out in Superdrug and on the Barry M website already. And they are also able in Boots stores tomorrow (17th April)!!
They are priced at £4.99 each and they come in Black, White, Silver & Pink.
They have a fine tip (a little like a felt tip pen) meaning they are so easy to use on the nail. On the first use just remember to pump the tip until the colour starts to flow. They dry very quickly, i had no problems with smudging or running. & with a clear top coat over the design, they last on the nail for ages! I think they're brilliant!!

You can see below what I came up with using the Pink & White pens and look out for my second post using the Silver & Black too.

This floral design is to celebrate the Spring and the sun finally peeping its head through the clouds lately!
I've named them Cath Kidston nails, mainly because we've used the name 'floral' before but also because that is where my inspiration came from. I think they are lovely and subtle but also so very easy to do! With a little help from my Barry M nail art pens of course :)

SnowySnowman.A.S.Nails

They say great minds think alike.... So when Alice told me yesterday to check out her newest post after seeing a picture of todays planned post I could only smile and give a little giggle at the fact we had come up with the same idea for the same week! So here are my Snowman nails...

For these I used slightly different colours, the base being Barry M Blue Moon (2 thick coats of this). Then for my lovely Snowman I used my Models Own nail art pens. The snow has also got little hints of Barry M silver foil effect in it!

I hope you're all starting to feel a bit more Christmassy! I'm hoping for snow so I can build my own Snowman... Just like last year (see picture below!).

SilverTips.A.S.nails

Hello lovely readers! Its Friday!!!

Today i've done some beautiful and simple silver tip nails. These are great for the weekend as the peach will look beautiful in the day and the touch of silver takes it into a great night mani.

For these I used Barry M Peach Melba and Silver Foil Effects. I also added Rimmel Pro Matte Finish on top of the peach before adding the silver to give it that matte finish.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I hope it's sunny!

Laser.A.S.nails

Goood Morning!!
I struggled naming these nails... People call them laser nails but i don't really like that however, i couldn't think of a snappy title (i liked colour block nails - too long) so laser nails it is!!

So these are gorgeous to look at and easy to do!

1. First you start off by choosing what colours you want together. Here i went for Barry M Peach Melba, Mint Green, Grey and Silver Foil Effects.

2. You will need to cut up small strips of selotape - you can buy thin tape but cutting your own means that all the lines will be different widths.

3. Paint a base coat and the colour you want the lines on all of your nails. I went for Peach Melba on one hand and Foil Effects on the other. Let these dry otherwise the tape will ruin them!

4. Place as many strips of tape onto your nail but in some sort of pattern. I used 3 per nails.

5. Paint your different colours in the blocks outlined by selotape. You can try doing the whole nail in one colour or mix it up and try a few.

6. You need to let this dry a little bit otherwise the colours will merge into each other! Once you think it won't run (it should be slightly tacky) start to peel off the selotape strips to reveal your base colour!

Finally you should always cover in a top coat to protect the varnish!

We would love to see how your nails go! Please send any pictures to cute.as.nails1@gmail.com

Chameleon.A.S.nails

So today I've been having a play with Barry Ms NEW Chameleon nail varnish! If you haven't got it or seen it then i suggest you go and buy it NOW!!
Here's how it works -
First you apply a base coat (you should always do this anyway to protect your nails)
Then you apply your chosen Chameleon nail varnish, i chose pink for this one.
You need to wait for your nails to dry before the next stage..
Once you've decided what pattern or design you want in your nails use Barry M Top Coat to create it! Magically the colour changes!
I've then used Barry M Silver Foil Nail Effects to add some more detail!

Now Im off to play with the other colours!!!
Have a colourful day..!
